The national WorldSkills South Africa (WSSA) competition took place in Durban from 22 to the 25 of February 2019.
The contestants had to build a mini ice ring, operating with glycol as secondary refrigerant and R134a as primary refrigerant.
The top three contestants had all been trained at the Open Trade Training Centre (OTTC), and they finished in the following order:
Tyrone Claude Bunce (Standard Refrigeration in KwaZulu-Natal).
Lionald Wooldridge (Penguin Refrigeration in Vryburg).
Valentim Jorge Valente (Penguin Refrigeration in Vryburg).

As we released the WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 Final Report and Video, the Secretariat and WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 teams were preparing for our latest planning meetings in Abu Dhabi. The signing of the MoU at the EmiratesSkills National Competition marked 520 days until the Opening Ceremonies of the 44th WorldSkills Competition.
